Kendis is built and operated by Kendis Oy, a Finnish limited company founded in 2018 and headquartered in Helsinki. Kendis Oy owns the software, runs the cloud service, employs the engineering and support team, and holds the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification. Whichever entity signs your agreement, this is the company delivering the service.
Kendis Oy
Kendis Oy is the contracting entity for customers everywhere outside the United States, and for US customers who are content to contract with a European supplier. Registered address: Lapinlahdenkatu 16, 00180 Helsinki, Finland. Finnish Business ID 2874062-5. Kendis Oy is VAT-registered in Finland; customers in other EU member states are invoiced under the reverse-charge mechanism and customers outside the EU without Finnish VAT.
Kendis US, Inc.
Kendis US, Inc. is a Delaware corporation and a wholly owned subsidiary of Kendis Oy. It exists so that US customers whose procurement or legal policies require a US counterparty can contract with one. Registered office: 2093 Philadelphia Pike #3520, Claymont, DE 19703. Kendis US, Inc. contracts and invoices in US dollars and provides a W-9 on request. Kendis Oy provides a W-8BEN-E for US customers who contract with the Finnish entity.
Which entity you contract with
The choice follows your location and your preference, not the product. Customers outside the United States contract with Kendis Oy. US customers may contract with either entity; we default to Kendis Oy and switch to Kendis US, Inc. when asked. The agreement form differs between the two, mainly in governing law and the tax and payment provisions, but the licence grant, the service description, the Data Processing Addendum and the Hosting and Subprocessor Schedule are the same in substance. Your Hosting Region is chosen independently of the contracting entity: a customer contracting with Kendis Oy can host in the United States, and a customer contracting with Kendis US, Inc. can host in Germany.
What you sign
A Kendis subscription is documented in a Software License Agreement with the relevant entity, a Quote or Order Form recording the licences, term and fees, the Data Processing Addendum, and the Hosting and Subprocessor Schedule incorporated by reference. Self-serve and trial customers accept the published click-through versions of these documents; enterprise customers sign them, usually on Kendis paper. Customers who enable the optional Kendis AI features on Org View subscriptions also accept the Kendis AI Terms of Use. Free trials run under the Free Trial Terms, which include a read-only period after expiry so that nothing is lost while a purchase is being arranged.
Buying through a partner or reseller
Some customers buy Kendis through a reseller or a regional partner, either because that is how their procurement works or because the partner is providing implementation services alongside the software. In that case the commercial relationship and invoicing sit with the partner, but the licence terms, the DPA and the Schedule are still the Kendis documents, and Kendis remains the processor of your data. If you are buying this way and want to see the terms that will govern your use, ask the partner for the Kendis end-user documents or request them from us directly.
Documents for vendor onboarding
The documents that procurement and vendor-management teams usually ask for are held in the document library: extract from the Finnish Trade Register for Kendis Oy, certificate of incorporation and good standing for Kendis US, Inc., the ISO/IEC 27001 certificate, the certificate of insurance, bank details on company letterhead, and the current W-8BEN-E or W-9. Request access with a work email and they will be made available.
